Who should adopt an older child?

Where do I begin?
Who should adopt?

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Married or single

  • Emotionally stable

  • Financially stable

  • Physically able to care for a child

You must be willing to:
  • Open your heart and home to children in need

  • foster or adopt children with backgrounds of abuse and neglect

  • attend pre-service training and participate in home study

  • get a fire inspection and meet any requirements

  • maintain minimum health and safety standards

  • maintain required annual training hours

  • allow caseworkers to visit in your home

  • have a criminal history check completed
